What data Gemdrops processes
This policy covers the data flows used by the current Gemdrops application.
Information you provide
- Account registration: display name and profile picture URL.
- Account authentication: a hashed form of your recovery key plus a short hint.
- Project chat: message text, display name, profile picture URL, project, and timestamp.
- Project submissions: project details plus submitter name, email, and role.
- Voting and watchlist activity tied to your recovery-key account or local browser state.
Technical information
Gemdrops is delivered through Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare D1. Like most hosted web services, requests may generate technical logs such as IP address, request metadata, device or browser information, and security events needed to operate and protect the service.
How the data is used
- To create and authenticate recovery-key accounts.
- To store project submissions, moderation decisions, chat messages, and votes.
- To run watchlists and related product features.
- To prevent abuse, investigate misuse, and keep the service available.
How long data may be kept
Data may be retained as long as it is reasonably needed for service operation, moderation history, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or dispute handling. Local browser storage remains on your device until you clear it or reject optional storage.
Third parties and public content
Chats, votes, project listings, and user-provided profile images may be visible to other users. Project information can also include moderated background data from third party sources. Gemdrops does not promise that third-party content is accurate or complete.
